in all the shadows

on the walls of your suspicious mind

Sifting through the layers
Of the memories you stashed away
Catch up with all the prayers
Then your turn the page

Then your life fits in a capsule you take
When you swallow it leaves a bitter taste

Love lives in the dark
Where it lingers, perhaps forever
'til someone lights a spark
Then you run for cover

Then you tell your lover "Let's just be friends'"
And that's how the story sometimes ends
